I can see me in this image. I made myself a Lemmy and a Mastodon account. My reasoning was simple, reddit has an amazing amount of information, and it’s an incredibly useful internet tool. And having all that locked to a single point of error is simply a mistake. A few people get greedy and suddenly all knowledge and interconnectivity gets thrown away.
Fediverse seems to offer some good basis for preventing that happening.
