    Am I the only person who does not want this feature? I fear it will wear the display out faster and I like the peace of mind that it’s not accepting inputs when the screen is off.

          Shorter, yes. People say 8-10 years. But there are virtually no smartphones that run any type of security-patched OS which are 8-10 years old.

            Not yet. But, the latest pixels will be supported for 7 years, and the fairphone will get security patches for 8-10 years. So, in the future. There will be, yes. Fortunately, both should get replacement parts, making it a non-issue.

      I feel the exact same way, within 5 minutes of getting the phone setup I turned it off

      You have a higher chance of a burn-in with static UI elements like the status bar than by using the always-on display feature.
