    I once made a reference to “genocide Joe” in a chat with a friend who I don’t normally talk politics with. He was confused - not because he thought what was going on in Gaza wasn’t a genocide, but because he had no idea what was even happening in Gaza, much less America’s involvement in it.

    Polls on Americans’ opinions on things outside of the Lower 48 are completely pointless given how criminally ignorant most Americans are.

      they did a survey recently and most Americans had no idea whether more Israelis or Palestinians have died

      it’s crazy when you say something extremely based, but nobody understood because you need to explain the meaning and historical context of 4 words and also 20 minutes catching them up on things that happened in the last 1-20 years.

      Polling exists to help media drive whatever narrative they want.

      They aren’t a great indicator of sentiment, or they tend to only be an indicator of a certain group’s sentiment.
