Look, I’m not trying to make a dig about Trump’s age, because I’m not about that ageism.

But he is 78, and with the things he’s been saying lately… is he going senile?

He thinks people didn’t know Kamala’s black until recently (despite her “that girl was me” zinger in 2020, about segregated bussing). He thinks people don’t know Kamala’s last name.

Is it just him who can’t remember, because he’s losing his memory?

I don’t think it’s just senility. He’s *been showing signs of frontotemporal dementia for a while. Have you ever seen one of his interviews from the 90s? Still a terrible man, but at least he was coherent.

Statnews ran an article on it back in 2017[1] highlighting his already then clear mental decline, noting as an example that in the 80s and 90s:

…Trump fluently peppered his answers with words and phrases such as “subsided,” “inclination,” “discredited,” “sparring session,” and “a certain innate intelligence.” He tossed off well-turned sentences such as, “It could have been a contentious route,” and, “These are the only casinos in the United States that are so rated.” He even offered thoughtful, articulate aphorisms: “If you get into what’s missing, you don’t appreciate what you have”

Yeah I’ve been saying this too, since he started the “she was Indian, now she’s black” statements. He also tried out a name attack on Haley’s first name back then

He also mixed up Haley and Pelosi when he was running against haley in the primary, after spending 2 years complaining about Pelosi leading up to Jan 6.

I mean I hate him, but I didn’t get that from this. To me it sounded like he was suggesting that her newfound supporters know very little about her, that they are fair-weather followers or something. It’s easy to imagine that one of his yes-men showed him a clip of a rally where somebody was fumbling for her last name, and he just took that idea and magnified a single example of something into “nobody knows”, like he always does.

Trump admits that he can’t remember Kamala Harris’ last name.

A culture shift where people are ashamed to publicly support such a terrible person is a step in the right direction, though. I’ll take it.

It makes no sense that they supported him in the first place. His only redeeming quality (in their eyes) is that he says what he thinks because he has no shame.

Okay, I’m convincing myself he really doesn’t realize that he isn’t running against Nikki Haley again.

She was Indian, now all of a sudden she’s black (Harris’s father is Jamaican, her mother was from Chennai, Haley’s parents were both Punjabi)

Nobody knows her last name (Harris has always been Harris, but Haley’s maiden name was Randhawa)

“Kamala Harris. You know it’s interesting nobody really knows her last name,” he said.

“If you ask people, do you know what her last name is, nobody has any idea what it is,” continued the former president. “Harris. It’s like Harris.”

“I don’t know, how the hell did this happen?”

Is this a sign of dementia? Any doctor can confirm?

Which is crazy, because her Jamaican father is named Donald Harris (she didn’t take her husband’s surname), so if you actually follow Trump’s breadcrumb and investigate Kamala Harris’ lineage, you find a family name that is actually more common and more Anglo than Trump’s last name (the anglicised version of the German “Drumpf”).

I’m not a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn last night. But no real medical professional would ever publicly confirm any actual diagnosis due to HIPPA concerns. What save you also saves him.

But, feel free to speculate all you want to. HIPPA doesn’t cover speculation by non-medical people.

Is it a compulsory that a married female take on the male last name? Am from Asia and this isn’t practiced at all.

It’s not compulsory though it’s widely practiced and probably used to be required for certain marriage arrangements.

It’s becoming less common and many women will hyphenate their last name after marrying now.

No, you have 6 different ways of pronouncing her name. Nobody else has this problem because they have ears and the ability to repeat names after they hear them.

I feel like the Dems ought to pull the records from one of his bankruptcy cases and just run an add that runs through all of the creditors he stiffed. “Employee A, janitor at casino, owed $700, received $30.” “Plumber who fixed pipe at hotel, owed $1400, received $60.” The man bankrupted a casino, a literal money printing machine. Why would we want his incompetent ass anywhere near the controls of our country.

You’ve got to run everything through his dementia/ego filter. Whenever he says “everyone tells me…” he means “I tell me…” and when he says “nobody knows…” he means “I don’t know…”
