“Wah wah I’m a victim look they’re going to attack me any second now!”

I hope you figure out whatever’s destroying your sense of self-worth and causing you to attack margainalisized communities to protect what’s left of your ego. That’s both a dig and a genuine dose of sympathy.

        Someone feels called out?

Some people like to be victim, some like drama and some are Mimosa on behalf of others. Augenmass is needed in such cases, instead of joining the drama.

Well, as they say, “common sense is not very common”, but thinking a bit before rushing in may always do good.

              about the "quote"

              It actually should read

It is sometimes said, common sense is very rare

as written by Voltaire, it appears, but I didn’t know that and only met derivatives of this quote.

          No?

Yes, sometimes it’s better to just leave the shitty person to be shitty but not calling people out also validates their shitty opinions. I’m glad you’re in a place of privilege to just ignore it but maybe practice your own fuckin’ augenmaß and butt out if you don’t have anything constructive to say.

Wait, what happened here? Is this picture supposed to be offensive somehow? Is there a place you can see deleted lemmy comments like you can see deleted reddit comments?

He refuses to update the identification info for contributers? Why? It’s the least they can do for people who offer their time and expertise for the project.

Presumably he’d be happy to do so if they got married and changed their name, so it sounds like he’s probably a transphobe, right?

No, it’s when someone wanted to change docs to say “they” when referring to the user. I don’t think it was really necessary, but refusal to do that looks like a statement I don’t like.

It’s busy work. Reviewing it to make sure they didn’t fuck it up takes away time to do literally anything else. It adds zero value, it only has downsides.

I would say being more inclusive is bringing value.

There’s a massive issue with women being under-represented in STEM and little things like this only further cement that.

It’s casual sexism. I’m not suggesting they are intentionally hating on women.

Assuming it’s a man because it’s programming is fundamentally sexist.

              What downsides would they be?

I didn’t label him a sexist. But that is a sexist act. Assuming a man because programming fundamentally is sexist.

Damn. This would have been a really clever joke if that was a real problem and not just something you made upto feel like your overcoming oppression.
