They say that they will fix it over this weekend, but they’ve done tons of goalpost movements. At this rate, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if this were BS. Unfortunately, I still need to make money for my rent, and as the title states, I’m sitting at $240 out of $750 at the moment. Anyone who wants to chip in is greatly appreciated.

You amazing comrades helped me out so much the past two months… soviet-bottom

As usual, I have CashApp, Venmo, and PayPal. Thanks to anyone who helps out, be it financially or emotionally.

It’s the same up here after Helene. They usually lie a bit to customers because it sounds bad when they say “we don’t actually know how bad the damage is”.

Fiber networks are incredibly complex and delicate. When people drive over or cut a backbone line It can take weeks to get service back because each one of those 2000+ fiber cables needs to be re-spliced by hand.

Plus internal cable damage can lead to latent failure due to dB loss and literal melting of the fiber.

There’s still AT&T backhauls on the ground here with signs that say “CRITICAL FIBER PLEASE BE CAREFUL” on them because people were just chainsawing them when they got stuck in downed trees.
