I thought KLM was supposed to be the airline gold standard 💀

Most airlines if not all contract to companies based at the Airport to provide the in-flight meals.

So in all honesty is it surprising that a flight from Ghana would not cater well to vegans? And the meals she was provided were vegan, including a vegan wrap which does not qualify as just “fruit and nuts”.

Veganism remains niche even in rich countries despite the hype. Like 1% of people at most compared to 10% vegetarian.

Another vegan said: "How difficult is it to have an alpro yoghurt, tomato, broccoli and vegan cheese pasta? Basic stuff.>

Do they know how heavy those items are going to be specially if they’re going to carry those items in bulk just in case they have to cater to one or three persons?

If you have dietary restrictions bring your own food.

That is straight up victim blaming, have some empathy for people, it’s not hard to accommodate everyone. As they can use the same ingredients from the other meals to make something without the animal products.

They don’t prepare food on board. Everything served on a plane is premade and assembled, then loaded onboard just before the flight, so it takes up space they don’t always have to bring food that there is no guarantee someone will want.

There are some big name airlines that do provide vegan options, so if this is something that matters to you, I recommend considering it when booking flights.

Did you know that those meals are prepacked and just get heated up on the plane before serving?

An airplane is not a restaurant that cooks the meals from scratch.

Let’s say the plane has 200 passengers how many do you think will be vegans?

From what I learned from the article there’s only one vegan passenger.

And from what I’ve learned about vegans they’ll not touch food that has been contaminated by animal products.

If an airline is to accommodate vegan meals they’re not just gonna pack a few, they’ll have to pack a lot. And that extra weight will cost more fuel.

In the 1980s American airlines saved $40k a year from fuel by removing one olive from the prepacked salads they serve the passengers.

I hope this doesn’t happen on my flight from Detroit to Vietnam on Delta. I told them ahead of time I want the Western vegan meals but maybe I should bring my own food just in case.

You sound pretty fascist. You do realize if you succeed with the fascists in crushing the human rights of vegans. They will target trans people next right.

Most vegans are poor. “The rich vegan” is a strawman created by animal agriculture.

2 wrongs does not make a right. They paid for the flight and they should be given a vegan meal. Stop being so hateful trying to tear others down for things they’re not directly responsible for.

You’re violating your own instance’s rule: "Animal Liberation is essential to any leftist movement, including platforms like Hexbear. Volunteers, comments, and posts, should not be anti-vegan, although users and volunteers are not required to be vegan.”.

You’re weakening the vegan movement by attacking other vegans. Stop it and demand all establishments serve vegan food.
