I dump all of mine at the beach when I take my old car batteries to feed the eels
Oh you’re where we get all the sea glass from
the beach is HUNGRY
You should look up the disposal guidelines for sharp objects for your area
No need to slice up a sanitation worker’s hands for no reason
Broken glass
What it’s something really good but with a disguised label
… are we not supposed to put it in the recycling for some reason
my local recycling place doesn’t take glass
Whaaa that’s insane. Glass is a classico style recyclable
Yeah I picked it up from my grandmother. Broken glass goes into a marked container so the trash bros don’t get hurt. I don’t know if the trash bros actually see it though since it’s in a bag.

Death to America
I do this for the sanitation workers. Dumpster divers are just a bonus I suppose.
yeah this is pretty real, especially with recycling where there’s more likely to be human intervention in processing that stream. I knew someone who worked in one of those places. It was a “here’s some inadequate PPE but the job is unachievable if you actually wear it all, you’ll get used to all the broken glass and needles” situation
Yes, chemistry class taught me to
if I see a box like this I’m assuming it has treasure and immediately shoveling it’s contents into my mouth without checking it first
That dude searching for his bitcoin hard drive will appreciate your consideration
If I can’t take it to the recycling center, for whatever reason, yeah. Sometimes I’ve taken two strips of duct tape and sandwiched the shards between them when I didn’t have a box or small plastic bottle/tub to use.
Yeah I do, in a bag or sth but not loose. Never thought about it for the dumpster divers but for the guys who have to throw those bags around. But here it’s recyclable
I also wrap razor blades in cardboard
I think glass goes in the recycling and the recycling centres don’t like it when you put stuff in other containers
I googled.
The bottom line is that recycling companies do not accept broken container glass.

Ninja edit. I just realized it’s surely US only info. Other places? I have no idea
Hmm, maybe they do want box glass. I’ll check, its something that rarely comes up (I usually have cans)
I do but I don’t label it. I guess anybody going thru my trash should mind any taped up boxes that sounds like there’s a bunch of broken glass inside
Usually, but sometimes a random mess has me forgetting in the moment.
