We have more apps for you to adopt!: Kasts, Labplot, Filelight and Konsole
https://kde.org/fundraisers/yearend2024/
You can adopt Kasts, a very cool and full-featured podcast application which works both on your desktop and your phone:
Or maybe you want to express your support for @LabPlot, a data analysis and visualization tool ideal for research, education, science and business:
You could also sponsor Filelight, a utility that allows you to visually monitor usage of the storage on your computer:
Or choose Konsole! KDE’s classic terminal emulator that has dozens of tricks up its sleeve that make working on the command line easy, fun and productive:
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social I love Konsole and all its features but the missing GPU acceleration is a blocker for me 😢 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411579
@phasslr @kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Is text rendering too slow though? I don’t notice any difference between Konsole and Wezterm, which uses OpenGL, and I use neovim with tons of bells and whistles.
Maybe running a terminal benchmark would give us some data to discuss. I did it some time ago, but I can’t find the results right now (I’m on a plane).
Why should I use Konsole instead of another terminal Emulator?
As in what are the differences? Or what does Konsole do better or different?
The video linked above answers a some of those questions. It is only 40 seconds long.
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social Filelight is soo useful! <3
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social its useful, but it feels much worse than it was before…looks like so many useless operations, no caching, and actually less readable graph
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social @LabPlot hold the phone - gui for matplot 😳
@kde@floss.social @kde@lemmy.kde.social please add DigiKam, Kile and RKWard :)
