    I’m guessing they must have been threatened with the taking away of their tax-exempt status like Jimmy Carter did in the 70s to make them rescind their “no blacks” rule.

      I guess not. Maybe they’re trying to be more woke to attract members. I guess you can’t be too picky when you’re hemorrhaging members.

        Eh, as someone who grew up Mormon I’m surprised they’re not leaning into the alt right more, a lot of the members are disappointed with mainstream church leadership for being “woke” by walking back the no blacks rule and the strictness against women.

    I’ll never understand how people can experience such arbitrary rules like this and still believe their religious leaders have a mandate from God.
