They have always claimed Taiwan as part of China. And Taiwan always claimed China as Taiwan. This is nothing new.
It’s more than that since it involves more than Taiwan. China is now trying to claim larger part of the seas and everybody else is disliking it.
They’re also claiming parts of India and Russia.
