Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. directed Centers for Disease Control and Prevention staff to probe the potential harms of offshore wind farms, according to people familiar with the matter, as President Donald Trump marshals his administration to thwart the clean energy source he loathes.

Nevermind the very real harm from air pollution

Did you know small airplanes still dump lead into the air? I don’t see RFK getting upset about that actual MAHA problem.

Rich people eat food and take protein powder contaminated by the lead that has fallen over crops. I guess they are too stupid to realize they’re affected too. 🤷‍♂️

“Lead helps guard your health,” a National Lead Co. advertisement declared in “National Geographic” in 1923 — a year after the League of Nations suggested banning lead indoor paint because of health concerns.

I like the idea of drawing a clear line between MAHA problems and actual problems.

How does an offshore wind farm relate to health and human services in any way? Even if you believe the lie that the turbines cause cancer for people who live near them, these are offshore, so there shouldn’t be any health impact.

Next up, 5G and WiFi. Because why stop at just one moronic conspiracy theory?

5g and WiFi are in the interests of RFK’s connections, and the oil industry losing out to renewable is not

Donald Trump is a real life Don Quixote and and RFK Jr is his Sancho Panza.

Except I read the book and Quixote could be charming and Sancho always had something witty to say.

Discussion of climate, how it is changing, activism around that, the politics, and the energy systems change we need in order to stabilize things.

As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

How much each change to the atmosphere has warmed the world: IPCC AR6 Figure 2 - Thee bar charts: first chart: how much each gas has warmed the world. About 1C of total warming. Second chart: about 1.5C of total warming from well-mixed greenhouse gases, offset by 0.4C of cooling from aerosols and negligible influence from changes to solar output, volcanoes, and internal variability. Third chart: about 1.25C of warming from CO2, 0.5C from methane, and a bunch more in small quantities from other gases. About 0.5C of cooling with large error bars from SO2.

Recommended actions to cut greenhouse gas emissions in the near future:

Anti-science, inactivism, and unsupported conspiracy theories are not ok here.
