Me and my plush panda bear all dressed up. I know why I’m dressed as a panda bear, do you libs get it?
Same to you, camarade! Here’s mine for tonight !

Wow, that’s impressive work
It sure was, but I had a blast with it!
Ooh, neat. Not sure what you are, but it looks like you put a lot of effort into it. Mine’s literally just a set of warm pajamas I had lying around already, an excuse to carry my teddy bear around all night, and a way to look “hug shaped” and get some cuddles from the people I’m hanging out with. Low effort because I’m getting too old for creative kiddie costumes and a low effort panda bear was way easier and draws less trouble than something like the Spectre of Communism or that one year I went as Lenin (tbf, I then wore that again to celebrate the anniversary of the October Revolution, it wasn’t just a Halloween costume, I just ran out of time to arrange a separate Halloween costume).
Oh I work with a ton of queer young folks and they were all fawning on the new Hollow Knight game and it’s main character Hornet that I went and surprised them with that costume today.
First time crafting with evo foam, it’s a bit rough looking, but overall pretty happy about the results. You sure sound like you had a lovely evening with your folks and that’s awesome !
Oh, neat. It looks awesome. Well made.
Yeah, I sure did. Halloween is my favourite. I get to dress up as the most hug shaped thing I can think of, and get lots of hugs from my family. My dad’s notoriously not a hugger, and even he hugged the panda bear.
is it because pandas are the most chinese bear
Yes indeed, comrade!
Yes, I can do a “commie bear” bit as almost any type of bear, and I own several teddy bear suits in different real bear types, but a deliberate and higher effort “Soviet Bear” would draw lib attention, whereas a panda bear… a lot of these type of people, they understand that China is socialist and they understand that panda bears are a national symbol of China, but they never apply the transitive property.
So, you see, I can dress as a panda bear, and only get called a pinko once all night, and that was because of something I said, not the panda costume. (A known commie dressed as a panda bear sits in a corner with a mug of green tea in his paw. No one says a goddamned thing. It felt so good to engage in a Commie Stereotype and get away with it.)
My views on China are… complicated. But, when I need a “commie bear” that only comrades will catch, a panda always bloody works exactly as desired. Also, pandas are the most huggable looking bear, I look super cute in a panda outfit, and Comrade Cuddles, my favourite teddy bear, matches pawfectly.

Hug shaped, no? Look at us dope ass bears, lol.
