Nearly two decades after Kramer’s actor Michael Richards went on a racial tirade during a set at the Laugh Factory. The actor who left the spotlight after multiple attempts from costar Jerry Seinfeld trying to clean his image by aiding his apology on Letterman which was taken by the public as a bit, to having him appear on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee to no avail. Richard’s career became stagnant and the beloved star faded off into the shadows. That was until Castlerock studios a Sony subsidiary greenlit a revival of the hit 90s show which aired from 93 and ending in 99 with over 140 episodes spanning six seasons. The reboot was announced earlier this year around March when Jerry Seinfeld posted an image of a script titled “Seinfeld- WIP” (work in progress).
Larry David head writer of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm did in fact curb his enthusiasm for this show saying “there’s nothing left to say” during a TMZ interview, needless to say the Curb star will not be working on this new reboot. But according to some the development is not going as well as expected with the writers struggling to maintain the shows integrity but having to rewrite the show for modern audiences. “It’s a doozy” one writer posted on a Reddit “ask me anything” post. “Any time we try writing Kramer we always end up having him say the n word… the entire series revolves around him saying the n word no matter what.”
And what does Michael Richard’s have to say? In a viral tweet he said “I’ll say it again.”
