The real lipservice is that the EU as a block hasn’t simply said that the entire EU airspace is not to be used to wage war from.

Also, in all fairness, if those planes are already in Spain, then what? They’re supposed to just stay there, never be able to go anywhere ever again? As long as they aren’t flying to Iran and returning, I’d say Spain is doing as promised
Yes? Countries can ground planes. That’s how airspace sovereignty works. This was a choice on Spain’s part.
There is a big divide between can and should. Just because you can. doesn’t mean you should. Grounding US war planes could potentially cause an enormous shit show that everybody would come to regret. Remember we’re dealing with a crazy guy here and standing up to him can potentially be dangerous or very bad for your economy, so people are rightfully cautious.
How about we applaud the move in the right direction, and focus on those that haven’t even take that step yet?

Don’t comply? Then scramble fighters and threaten shoot them down if they don’t let themselves be escorted to an airport. Like is protocol for every country’s airspace.
They do that for Russian planes, even civilian ones.

this is the same argument as the bombing planes are only getting fueled in the UK because the pilots say that they’re not going to iran.
