I can hope any investigation by the BBC goes “they brought EU flags in, they waved them. Recommendations - none.”

Oh, those little snowflakes. Poor things. Do they need to retreat to their safe space? What about a kiss on their boo-boos? Never mind those bad pro human rights, pro equality, pro EU people can’t hurt you.

The spectacle of so many EU flags being waved as the hall belted out Rule, Britannia! provoked disgust from leading Eurosceptics.

Harvey Proctor, a former Conservative MP, said it was a “disgraceful” display and called for an inquiry by the BBC, which organises and broadcasts the Proms.

Well look who crawled out of the woodwork!

They’ll properly soil themselves when they find out that Jerusalem isn’t as patriotic as they think it is.

The idea of an “inquiry” for this is so utterly hilarious. What is he expecting it to find? That leaving the EU was a disastrously unpopular decision and that anyone can wave a flag?

Also, they view Rule, Britannia as a modern, relevant, unironic thing? I see that as the British equivalent to when Americans are like “MURICA, fuck yeah, guns and lifted trucks and bald eagles and worshipping the founding fathers!” Which is to say, incredibly cringy.

Imagine being this upset about a flag. And also going to the lengths of organising a campaign to wave flags just to get a headline in the guardian. 🤣😂😂🤣

    What a complete non story.

“Unlike you snowflakes, I’m difficult to offend.”

Saw an article by David Frost in the Torygraph earlier. I genuinely can’t imagine having the energy to get so irate for money about such inane shit.

Educated people know you can get information from a search engine these days. Knucledraggers need to be told how to feel about that information. This is where tabloids found their market.

Nile Gardiner, a former aide to Margaret Thatcher and a contributor to the Daily Telegraph, posted: “Rule Britannia represents freedom, sovereignty, and self-determination."

Rule Britannia is a song about British supremacy in global imperialism but that melted brain ghoul worshipping fucking idiot would never grasp that.

We’re dealing with spoiled manchildren that never got told ‘no’ in their lives, and probably never will.

It’s not enough that they always get everything they want as always, but it’s unforgivable some people entertain the idea they’re wrong at all. This is why non-CHUDs just existing irks them so much.

grillman “If they’re right, what does that say about me? Oh no, I’m a bad person, well fuck them! I’m better than them and they should know it! Fuck you for making me think!”

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The sight of thousands of European Union flags at the Last Night of the Proms has prompted outrage from Brexiters and a call for the BBC to investigate.

Disgraceful & misguided BBC messing up a British tradition; a political gesture which would make Sir Henry Wood turn in his grave.

Nile Gardiner, a former aide to Margaret Thatcher and a contributor to the Daily Telegraph, posted: “Ironic to see some of the audience at The Last Night of the Proms waving EU flags while singing Rule Britannia.

“Tens of thousands of music lovers have taken our free European flags into the Royal Albert Hall for each Last Night of the Proms in solidarity with musicians who feel (like countless others) the destructive impact of Britain’s recent isolation from Europe,” it said.

The letter added: “We appreciate that the BBC strives to avoid controversy at all costs, but would gently point out that in doing so you might on occasion have chosen reticence rather than objectivity with regards to editorial policy on Brexit matters.

“I’m sure it cannot have escaped your attention that the artistic endeavours on stage now happen despite, not because of, the limitations that Britain’s departure from the European Union have imposed on the creative industries.”

The original article contains 496 words, the summary contains 208 words. Saved 58%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Federasts “protesting” at the proms, I can’t think of a more petite bourgeois thing.

And it’s not the “EU flag”, there’s no such thing, it’s the flag of Europe.
