Fuck 'em. I have my computer and that’s where I’ll stay.
They are gutting their Xbox division so you can be sure that most games coming to Xbox will be AI slop.
Except Gears of War and Clockwork Revolution never were actual exclusives. The showcase might’ve said they are but those games have been on Steam ever since. You can even pre-order Gears on Steam.
I guess their exclusivity just means no PS5.
Considering Xbox is a subsidiary of Microsoft, being on PC (using Steam as a distributor) is still technically within their ecosystem, as Microsoft is primarily a PC software company.
So, yes, it pretty much means “not on PS5”.
within their ecosystem
Only if you use windows. Steam runs on linux as well, and the majority of the same games play perfectly.
I’m certain the moment Microslop feels threatened by Linux they’ll come out with some new standard (like UWP but even worse) that is deliberately made as hard as possible to get it running on Linux and then force all their games to use that. They’ll get to sell on Steam and still lock you into Windows.

Xbox games on Windows, and most if not all Microsoft Store apps, have some abstraction layer -I’m not certain of the technical details and actual implementation- that make them virtually unrunnable using Wine.
Note: My experience may be outdated and not reflective of the current state of Wine.
too bad, i’m not buying another (locked) computer just because microsoft thinks it’s losing money by supporting their own operating systems.
You guys still play xbox games?
I haven’t had an Xbox since the 360, and never will again. Fuck that company in the ass with a morning star.
…they still make xbox games?
I wanted to play clockwork revolution, but not even remotely enough to buy a $1k+ Xbox. And I’m fairly certain that sharma will be gone before ES6 or Fallout 5 appear on the market.
Clockwork Revolution is still going to be on Steam. You don’t need an Xbox console for it.
Well that’s good but I doubt my computer will handle that unfortunately. And I’m not in the market for a new one at the moment, I’m sure you can understand why lol.
Unfortunately, I’m in the same boat. I’ll be lucky to run it on the lowest settings.
“What’s going on?” is a rhetorical question.
