It was both, the company was founded in Berlin and only moved to the Netherlands when Germany wasn’t allowed to build planes and plane engines after WW1

Even more fun is that Fokker eventually moved to the US in the 1920s and morphed into North American Aviation, famous for producing the P-51 Mustang and other airplanes. Those fokkers was inside the house!

Shit like this makes me wonder if the rest of the world deserved WWII. Plunge a first-world country into an almost-comically absurd economic destitution, Hitler rises to power in a completely predictable manner, and the rest of the world goes

Of course, the asshole needed to be overthrown and choke on his own bullet. But, all of this could have been prevented if WWI’s victors didn’t fuck over Germany so hard.

The common consensus is that the Treaty of Versailles was not harsh enough to keep Germany down but too harsh to have a chance of reconciliation.

I believe a more generous peace and not putting all the blame on Germany could have been the seed for a more united Europe. But four years of brutal industrialised war and millions of casualties destroyed any chance of that.

Give it enough time and the equivalent next stories will be about egirl drone pilots that took down aircraft carriers from a bunker in the middle of landlocked nowhere.

This article is still pretty funny though.
