Xochimilco is a must go if you visit CDMX. There you can find some of the last existing chinampas - floating islands of arable land built on top of the lake bed.
It’s unimaginable how complex and built up Tenochtitlan must have been back in its heyday.
It was larger than any of the European capitals in its day.
