@SoyViking@hexbear.netI’ve been saving sandwich crust each time I make sandwiches and just used it all to make a breakfast friendly bread pudding

Little Beaver has been biting us. In some ways, I’m glad she’s doing it to us instead of her classmates, because we can give her the disciplinary feedback she needs to understand that she should never bite, and that she needs to say sorry. She’s in a very behaviorally experimental phase, and snickers and giggles when she’s doing something she knows we don’t want her to do. I suppose all we can do is continue to be consistent in telling her to stop, and physically removing her from the situation if she’s not listening or being willfully defiant.
On the flip side, she’s basically potty training herself now, earlier than we had even planned on starting the proess. Many of the kids in her room at daycare use the toilet, and so she observes and imitates them.
There was a reprieve from the super hot weather, so we got some park time in. I was playing with the playground excavator, and so she had to join even though she is tiny and won’t be able to operate it for years. So her and I squeeeezed in and did some earth moving. Good stuff, exactly the kind of thing I dreamed about doing with her from before she was even born.
For our youngest it was headbutting, both of which are fairly normal behaviors for little kids. He’s 3 now and rarely headbutts anymore. Biting can be stressful though, our kids have had their fair share of being the target of a bite over the years. We’ve never had to be told our kids bit someone but I imagine its not fun to hear. They eventually grow out of it (most do anyway).
Were having similar success with potty training! Though pooping is lagging behind peeing sadly. I’d rather clean 100 pee pants then 1 poop pants any day.
We went to an arcade recently that had a motorcycle game that you ride, like this:

I put K2 in front and I did the driving while he just slammed the turbo button as fast as he could while holding on. It was a blast, we placed 1st by a mile lol. So similar vibes to your earth moving. Once these kids are coordinated enough to game, it’s on.
Zoooooooom.
I’m waiting for the additional hitting, headbutts, etc. She received some biting at daycare, so I don’t want her to learn those bad habits. I can tell she learns a lot of things from her peers - for example, yelling “MINE” when she doesn’t want to give up something.
We’ve been having issues at childcare with one of the kids getting upset, throwing, and hitting other kids. It’s odd because we don’t experience anything to the same extent at home or over the weekends. We’re a bit sussy on the current room and we ran into an educator that left, didn’t have anything lined up, just resigned. Not a good sign.
They’re booked in to go to another centre next year but we might try move them on sooner. Their current room doesn’t have a quiet corner for kids to manage big emotions, there are some kids ours are friends with that don’t seem to be good for them. We know one of the families and they have A Lot going on in their personal lives, unfortunately it seems to be coming out in their child at the centre. And we had to remind our kid they could take naps if they felt like it, their teachers aren’t actively encouraging it anymore or even suggesting it. Our kid took a nap today which seemed to help diffuse things, but that’s only after we reminded them they could do so. We’re going to have a meeting with the centre soon, so it will be really interesting to hear what they have to say
minifuzz starts fútbol school today. I think he has what it takes, next stop la selección (he’s 3)
