      But the thread is about people wanting to get an abortion if they knew the child would have a deformity, not if the child was an accident. Contraceptives are irrelevant in that discussion.

        Couldn’t agree more, we had a same discussion in 12th grade not directly a deformity but indirectly relates to that too, we talk about gene modification in our biology class all agreed to do so if it will make the lives of offspring easier by decreasing the chances of major deadly diseases, abortion is another matter though but If I’m questioned I’ll abort the baby right away and also if I discover that I’ve gene problem that increases risky diseases that is not curable I’ll decide to not have a baby in my entire lifetime, if you remove ethics and moral dilemmas regarding abortion it’s not that bad actually.

        Serious decisions such as those have to be thought out very hard first. I’m for the idea that abortion cannot be used for anything callous or casual, as some freedoms also demand responsibility – I prefer that its utility limited to either a medical emergency, or rape cases.

    Does the Data Privacy Act of 2012 have the same powers as the GDPR or CCPA in that it will compel companies and corporations to delete data from users in Philippine territory?

    EDIT: We have the rights to, as per prescribed in the IRR of the Data Privacy Act:

    e. Right to Erasure or Blocking. The data subject shall have the right to suspend, withdraw or order the blocking, removal or destruction of his or her personal data from the personal information controller’s filing system.

    1. This right may be exercised upon discovery and substantial proof of any of the following:

    (a) The personal data is incomplete, outdated, false, or unlawfully obtained;

    (b) The personal data is being used for purpose not authorized by the data subject;

    © The personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;

    (d) The data subject withdraws consent or objects to the processing, and there is no other legal ground or overriding legitimate interest for the processing;

    (e) The personal data concerns private information that is prejudicial to data subject, unless justified by freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press or otherwise authorized;

    (f) The processing is unlawful;

    (g) The personal information controller or personal information processor violated the rights of the data subject.

      PH companies can delete data from their database. The irony here is that you need to submit rigorous documents to them, and it will take them 30 days tops to delete your data.

      I requested GCash to delete my former account linked to my old, forgotten mobile number last year, and yes they deleted “some of it”. I say some of it, kasi under sila sa AMLC na dapat may data retention ang mga deleted account minimum of five years, ten is max. ePhilID (or any valid ID) former mobile number, at letter need nila. I dunno kung ganito pa rin ngayon.

      Tried requesting data deletion sa Shopee, but they need interview or video chat. Wtf? This was a year ago.

    What if tanggalin na daw yung night shift dito sa work… actually pabor ang mga tao dito. I guess nobody really wants to do night shift. Heck, I don’t like it either. We just make it bearable.

    Ang weird pala kapag nagpa check up ka sa workplace mo tapos kilala mo lang yung mga people. What if I was diagnosed with a disease tapos may stigma? What if I just want to keep it private? So weird.

      It is tempting to do day shift. But as a nighter, malapit lang kasi work, so night = less traffic at least most of the time. I’m all for 6 am to 3 pm but the lines man, just parang nakakahinayang lang na nagising ka ng maaga para wala kang kasama, which is exactly what a few thousand people also thought at that moment lol.

      Alas, but it is what it is. Do what is best for you, as talagang ymmv whether you want to be a day or night shifter.

      Very tempting din kasi ang shift pay. But do check if your finance can take the hit kapag nawala sya, especially kung sakop mo ng buo yung 10pm-6am.

    I just went on a mini killing spree of cockroaches. Ugh, it was disgusting, but it would’ve been more disgusting if I just let them go. And then I had to clean everything kasi may amoy sila that’s even more annoying i don’t even want to talk about it 😤

    May nag-attempt pa lumipad. You’re not getting away. It was like playing whack-a-mole with my shoe. Feeling ko medyo lumabas yung pent up rage ko in the process. It was still disgusting, plz

    I miss my room, I miss my bed, gusto ko na umuwi. Na-trigger ata yung allergies ko dito.

      It’s also crossplatform so that’s a W for iOS users who technically have just 1-2 options right now since closed yung Mlem.

    If I had another chance, I tried to tell you that the things we had were right.

    This will always my favorite music video and one of my favorite house music in my lifetime. The 2000s zeitgeist is too strong on this one, even though I was too young to remember the era. The pandemic blew this M/V views from 2m to 17m.

    They “remastered” the M/V last year, and it has different vibe compare to moody, original version that really looked so cinematic. By the way, this was shot on 16mm.

    Speaking of snack boxes below, subscription model boxes, has anyone tried them? Like ung mga clothing subscription (set of clothes and iirc shoes sent to you monthly for a monthly subscription. Naturally they’ll ask for your measurements, shoe sizes, etc.) or same idea but for food. How was it?

    Nakatipid ba kayo or not?

    More convenient or not?

    Genuinely curious.

        Yep. Sort of a luxury here I guess, but it’s a bit of a thing sa US. I was just wondering how people here would justify either paying or not paying for this kind of service.

      Sleepless.

      I’m guessing either something that stopped him from going to sleep has to do. Or meth.

        The suspect’s wife said he hadn’t slept in three days. So we presumed his mental health was affected.

        I’ve experienced bouts of being awake for more than 36 hours (I think there’s even a time I’ve been awake for 72 hours–my memory of that time is really fuzzy), and I can attest that at such times I’m irritable and yet slow to react at the same time. It’s a really strange state of mind to be in.

        I am guessing, just out of my ass, that some kind of mania (a manic episode) is involved.

        Regardless, I hope this incident leads to the man getting the help he needs.

        EDIT:

        Shit, kulang pa ako sa gising. Damn. I’m sorry. Pagkakaintindi ko kanina, nabaril lang.

          24 ang nagawa ko, and I have to say I don’t want to to it again. I’ve become more assertive when it comes to sleep time now. Di ko mapakawalan ang 8 hours sleep time, 1 to 4 hours if shit really needs to be done, but I still have to sleep somehow.

          On recharge time, I only remember once na natulog ako ng 6 am and woke up around 9 or 10 pm (?) that evening. Luckily I didn’t feel dizzy or anything, but quite well rested. Hungry AF tho.

          On a sort of relevant note, this was around the time I stumbled upon the sickness Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI), which is basically a disorder that can be passed down wherein the affected person dies slowly because they can’t sleep.

          Experts estimate that only 100 people in 30 families across Europe, China, Japan, Australia, and the U.S. are carriers of the gene that causes this disease.

          Source is WebMD. That’s like a terrible death sentence for a family.

          Scary shit.

            I’ve become more assertive when it comes to sleep time now.

            Teach me your ways, master!‌ lol!

            Sarili ko pinaka-kalaban ko dito eh. Lalo na yung feeling mo you’re coming near a breakthrough and ayaw mong mawala sa groove since it’s very hard to get the mental train get going after a prolonged break (like sleep).

            Eto ata yung side-effect ng na-train sa cramming, lol! Yung lahat na lang halos dinadaan sa overnight at pag-pigil ng tulog: notebooks (na sinusubmit sa teacher), projects, thesis.

            But yeah, I know one has to be assertive and disciplined when it comes to sleep (part of a healthy sleep hygiene). Kaso mas di hamak siyang madaling sabihin kaysa gawin.

            That’s like a terrible death sentence for a family.

            That’s really terrible indeed. I’d probably just off myself if I find myself to be in such a situation.

            Buti na lang! I can’t imagine doing anything remotely productive at such situations too.

            And that 14h recharge, lol! At my worst, I’ve had days where I’d sleep for around 18 hours (after being awake for ~30 hours), even got to a 24h+ sleeping spree, but the feeling after such a long sleep, not that great either. Parang nakukulangan pa ako sa tulog.

            It’s just unhealthy: too much wakefulness and too much sleep.
