Our children are a reflection of us. If we build a society that is hostile to them, they’ll grow up thinking they can’t do anything or go anywhere on their own.
Hasn’t that already happened?! I can’t recall the number of times I’ve had to say things like: No I’ll walk thanks or I have a jacket, an umbrella, warm hat & gloves, I don’t need a lift etc etc. It’s infuriating?!
Does the 87% include school buses or were people who took the school bus a bigger outlier than I thought?

Mine takes the bus but it’s because I’m sending her to a further away school to learn French. I have seen the drop-off car line a couple times though and it looks like pure torture. I’d rather do the hour-long walk to her school if she missed the bus than ever drive her there.
It changed so quickly in the last twenty years somehow. What went wrong?
