Hello, I need your advice to choose between these 2 laptops, either a 13" M2 MacBook Air with 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD or a 15" M2 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Note that the laptop will be used most of the time with external 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display, so the screen size is not a deal-breaker choice. The laptop will be used for productivity, web and social media design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, Adobe Express, and productivity tools). Thanks

I am on the go most days and keep my laptop in my backpack, and my 13 barely makes my backpack heavier. Its so easy to transport and is super convenient. If portability isnt a factor, i think the 15 makes sense.

15in is the best! I know 15in laptops out there are so shit. But this one is perfect. Go and see it from near.

For your use case the extra RAM won’t really have much benefit.

Go with the size you want and feels personally better to you. If it were me I’d go 13" and save a bit of money by lowering to 16gb ram. But some people really like the big screen.

Also wait a few days. You may be able to get an m3 for the same price or a significantly reduced m2 model.

I’d say wait until the Apple event in a few days but also, if it’s gonna be plugged in the whole time, why not just get a Mac mini? You can get an M2 Pro Mac mini for $1300 and a regular M2 one for less than $600 now iirc. Unless you need the portability and you don’t already have the other peripherals you need, I don’t see why you’d wanna get one of these.

As a student I can say that 13" will fit into a lot more backpacks and is easier to use on-the-go

That’s up to you. They’re identical except for the screen size so if you’re talking about the same exact configuration just a bigger screen that’s something only you can answer. I like the 13-in but more importantly my 14-in MacBook Pro better than both of those it’s the perfect screen I feel and has the higher resolution :-) but if I was buying one today I would go with the 13-in because if I’m having a laptop with me I’m all about portability and the 15-in if you fly a lot isn’t the greatest experience flying coach on a airplane using a tray table. It’s not horrible but the 13 in is much easier and lighter to pack around

If it’s going to be plugged to a monitor probably would be better to go with a pro model

In January 2022, I purchased a MacBook Pro M1 for an approximate value of $3,500 (dolars). However, after receiving the product and conducting tests, I decided to return it and opt for a different model. The return was processed without issues, and Apple’s facilities confirmed that the product was in perfect condition. Nevertheless, the refund was never processed.
Over these months, I have made multiple calls to customer service in search of a transaction number that would allow me to trace the money in my bank account. Unfortunately, I never received useful information, and in some cases, I was even accused of attempting fraud.
After months without any news regarding my money, I decided to take legal action in Mexico through PROFECO as an intermediary. Despite participating in several hearings over several months, I did not receive significant assistance from your staff in the country.
Nearly 12 months ago, I initiated a legal process with the assistance of a lawyer with the purpose of resolving this matter. We even visited your offices in Mexico City with the intention of presenting my case and reaching a solution. However, to this day, Apple has not responded to my situation, despite the judge ruling in my favor due to a lack of evidence demonstrating the return.
I have been a loyal Apple customer for over a decade, and this situation has been deeply disappointing. After nearly two years since the purchase, I was finally able to recover the money, as, thanks to my lawyer, we came very close to the process of seizure, prompting Apple to agree to the refund at this point. However, this process has caused significant difficulties in my professional life. Furthermore, I have spent almost the same amount as the computer’s value on legal proceedings, including attorney fees, transportation expenses, and stays in Mexico City, among others
The intention of commenting on these forums is to highlight Apple’s poor customer support practices and to see if, in any way, they address my particular case to recover the money that I invested in these two years to retrieve the money that was rightfully mine from the beginning.
It is pathetic that I had to spend so much money to recover my own money
