Same. They force u into buying a pro with all the bells and whistles for a slightly bigger screenZ but according to the rumors they work on an 12,9 Air
Is there a difference in sheet music apps or whatever between Android and iOS?
There’s some significantly cheaper options for like 1/3rd or the price, or less. On Amazon I see some Samsung has some 12.5 inch tablets for $400. And I’m sure some generic random brand would have some even cheaper.
I know it’s not the same, but if your use is that specific, and you’d be saving those $700, then it might make sense to go with something else.
I’d prefer to keep it in the Apple ecosystem (have never owned anything Android) but I’ll probably still look into something just in case.
Honestly as another commenter suggested, I may look into refurbs. Even a gen 3 12.9 pro still has most of the bells and whistles I’d want and I can find them for 500-600 usd or so; I’m just hesitant about used tech. I’m coming from an Air 2 that’s approaching 9 years old so literally anything would be an insane step up.
A person with the discernment of appreciating music and aesthetics definitely wants an Apple-designed OS not google’s full-on trash software. Trust me. Same with Apple vs Windows. Google and Microsoft software are a mess. Apple isn’t perfect but much better in many aspects.
Good thing there’s rumors of a 12 inch iPad Air coming. Though honestly, I really hope they make it closer to 12 inches than 13. Current iPad Pro is too large imo
I just want a non-Pro iPad with a bigger screen size for sheet music. I don’t need the super fast processors, just the screen.
I find this device fascinating:

But at that price I don’t want to pull the trigger on it and not like it lol.

Don’t listen to the Android people.

Used Apple tech has been the most reliable in my experience. I’ve done plenty of trades on both HWS and r/appleswap
Find a refurbed 12”

same. but I need more screen real estate to write 😭
I’m the reverse: I want a iPad Mini for the small screen light weight, but I want more power and 120fps and HDR!
I’m agreeing in the sense that I wish we had options and not stupid forced associations between size and weakness.
