I’m pretty sure even if you drop the membership you get to keep access to the books, but considering the amount of money I spent on them over the years I would really rather make sure. Anyone got the best option for saving you catalogue DRM free and offline?
Thanks!
I’ve been able to download stuff and store it. I’ve then put it through something like AaxToMp3: https://github.com/KrumpetPirate/AAXtoMP3
via something like: https://github.com/inAudible-NG/audible-activator
(don’t know if it still works, it did last time I tried it)
Thanks, would be handy if there was a script to do the whole lot (comm’eer chatGTP ;) my next project I guess!
I’ve been using a similar script to aax2mp3 for years. Just point it at the files and let it rip.
I agree. AAXtoMP3 is a wonderful way to do this :-) And yes, it still works :-)
You do get to keep access to books you’ve purchased but if you’re in the audible plus thing and you got any “free” books, you would lose access to those when you end your membership.
But they could just take it away whenever they want right, if your account got locked or they changed the TOS?
Yes, you can download your audiobooks on your PC with the Audible App and then use this tool to convert it. If you use M4A, the chapters should stay intact.
I use Libation, works great for me.
I use OpenAudible. It does a fantastic job. It downloads and converts to mp3. Best of all is it is cross platform for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Thank you, that link isn’t working for me but I’ll Google it when I have the chance
