I am continuing with the project to edit Wikipedia articles about GameStop and DRS. I expect that this will take both vigilance and good citations. For example, in the article Cede and Company, I wrote, “Appropriately, the word ‘cede’ means to ‘give up (power or territory)’ because investors give up their stock and companies give up their shareholders to an intermediary.” I cited “Rise and effects of the indirect holding system system: How corporate America ceded its shareholders to intermediaries”.
How you can help:
- Post ideas of articles to edit
- Post citations to reliable sources
- Watch articles for deletion of key facts!
Challenge: Get the word ‘DRS’ to stay in the article GameStop short squeeze.
Keep up the good work. Very motivating and inspiring.
Looks like it got ninja-reverted. Someone’s watching it and doesn’t like that …
I appreciate you keeping watch! I just checked the article, and I see still the sentence that I wrote at the end of the introductory paragraph. I also checked the revision history, and my edit is the latest. I also tried logging out of my account, and I still see the the sentence that I wrote. So no reversion yet!

I’m confused then… when I view the page I do not see the December edit:
Appropriately, the word ‘cede’ means to 'give up (power or territory)'https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cede#English because investors give up their stock and companies give up their shareholders to an intermediary.{Cite conference}
I just purged the server-side cache for the article Cede and Company. If you still don’t see the revision, then you can also try bypassing your client-side cache.
I see it now, perfect!
In the Resurgence from February 24 subsection of the GameStop short squeeze article, I wrote, “GameStop reported on their Form 10-Q that, as of June 1, 2023, their investors had directly registered (DRSed) 76.6 million shares with their transfer agent via the direct registration system.”

Good news! Both of the revisions are still standing as of this afternoon:
Amazing dude. Keep up the good work.
Nice. I support any attempt to get the truth out there and educate people with it.
However, I’d be prepared for some strong resistance if you are going against the legacy media narratives and wouldn’t hold too much hope, though I do very much respect the effort and thank you for it all the same.
Wikipedia, in my opinion, is a full-blown propaganda tool of the regime(s) and powers that be at this point and I question what I read there today more than I ever have.
I appreciate you dropping by from monero.town. We share a common goal of working towards a better financial system. 🤝
I appreciate you too brother (or sister)!!
Let’s fix this broken and corrupted system for not only ourselves, but for future generations. I’m more hopeful than I’ve been in quite some time to see common people trying to enact peaceful change by gathering in decentralized public and private squares like this here on Lemmy.
🤝 ✌️
🍻
Great work Ape

I found the two revisions from your screenshot in the revision history. I can’t view the revision from the user with the IP address because of the alleged copyright violation. Do you know what that revision contained? What does your screenshot intend to show?
There’s someone griping about Wikipedia on stonk right now, looks like a good time to shoot tgem a link to this… https://old.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/18f46ib/i_do_not_concede_defeat/
Thanks for the heads up! The 663 upvotes on the Reddit post show that even a one-sentence edit in Wikipedia can get noticed!
I’m always looking for opportunities to break the containment, so I sent the following message to /u/ShredManyGnar:
I just read your post “I do not concede defeat” on r/superstonk about Cede and Company. We’re working on a project to edit Wikipedia to provide the facts about DRS and GameStop. For more information, please check out the following post on Lemmy:
This is the way, keeping channels open and helping people find this one.
