I use mine docked I’d say about 70% of the time.
Works great, one thing I did learn the hard way though was the JSAux docking station I got had some interference issues with the Dualshock controller I’d set it up with. Ended up going with the official which works decent.
Primarily I use it to stream from my Gaming Desktop. There’s the odd issue but they’re few and far between.
Canadian privacy aware companies are threatening to leave, so I imagine you’d see the same in that scenario.
I’ve heard good things, issues would mainly pertain to somehow walking non-technical family members through setup.
As well given I don’t have a security background I try to keep my self hosted stuff to non-critical items. Plex going down matters less than “I can’t login to my bank account because the optiplex decided to die while I’m in the office”.

And I do agree with the first part of the statement…but I think a good chunk of us here use Linux so the latter part falls flat.
Perhaps we’ll see it similar moreso to Unix. Where activity pub is Unix and is used around the world. But Linux is still used by a small portion of the population.

If I play on the couch I get the issue this solves, but a dock and a controller solve that if I must be on the couch.

I use it the least but occasionally post so it gets some more content on there that isn’t just crypto. I generally only post on decentralized social media to be the change I want to see hence why Nostr is included.
Agreed. Forums are tricky because in my experience of you get too many people outside of the niche you’re discussing the quality goes down.
But if you don’t have enough then the Reddit community will take the majority of the discussion away from the forum.
There are some good hobby based ones still out there but discovery is always a challenge. Your best bet is finding someone who’s engaged in discussions you like and seeing where they go for said discussions.
I’d say Twitter. I get sent a lot of memes from Twitter so I spend more time there.
But usually I send back fediverse memes so friends at least know there’s other places for memes then Instagram, Twitter or Reddit.
I use a lot but primarily Reddit and Lemmy. Got off of Meta a while back, it’s a tough one to kick thanks to network effects.
As a Canadian, it’s terrifying to see the ammount of effort put behind justifying this bill which is clearly a danger to not just our privacy, but our data soviergnty our democracy and our jobs.
Australia already made a mistake with a similar bill and saw a 22% drop in R&D investment. We can’t afford the same here for both our businesses and our citizens.
Sadly my MP isn’t returning my calls and we’re not exactly a population that’s known for hitting the streets. I’m hoping any money I throw at Openmedia or Signal is able to work some magic cause at the moment it’s between that and big tech as our only chance to stop this.
