Ive been gifted a few IoT things over the years. They stay on their own network / VLAN or are unplugged entierly when not in use. The meme about keeping the firearm near the one thing I cant reasonably make myself is not innacurate. Tech workers are aware of the vulnerabilities and issues with cheap insecure IoT nonsense. As part of one of my nerds cyber security learning we hacked a smart cat feeder to snoop on wireless networks and allow a back door (we had their permission, it was a gift that was unneeded so they let us take it apart).

Edit: also a ton of that junk phones back to AWS, and usually pretty lazilly, if your learning pen testing or cyber security its a fun exercise to get this cheap crap and find out how it works.

Meshcore prefers to rely on volunteer infrastructure, meshtastic is better at ad-hoc networks.

If your going to a concert or convention, Meshtastic would be the better system. If your at home trying to make a local network, Meshcore is the tool for you.

Right now the issue is that they both mostly use the same hardware and there isnt really a method of using both projects on the same device to utilize their best aspects, ya sorta just have to go with what everyone else uses.

Its a Larian game, the fully voice acted cast is too big for one playthrough. DOS2 requires 2 runs to hear everyone. BG3 requires 3 (2 origin characters and 1 durge run).

Its purely out of spite, plus, im not clicking anything. Advertisment is theft.

I run the full ad blocking suite anyway and see more ads watching a sportsball game with the family than I do on my home network over the course of months.

1. I dont see the ads
2. The data they generate is wrong and random, if that is used to train AI it runs the risk of poisioning the model.
3. The site Im on gets paid by the ad vendor, even though the interaction is fraudulent.

If someone is trying to build an ad profile on you (even if you personally dont see the ads) then it feeds them junk data instead of real date.

Honestly, something I would like to take a crack at, but fearing getting my domain black-listed has prevented me from attempting it.

They have a point, you have one chance to get your self-hosted emails config correct. If you fail or mess up somewhere your domain will get added to a bunch of anti-spam lists that major providors use and cross-reference. If that happens your domain will just be branded as spam and will never be able to effectivly use your fancy service email.
