I updated my comment because from the image you shared, the pupper does look like a pitbull to me. A sweetie, I’m sure, but still: they’re going by looks.

Here is the particular page from that site stating pitbulls are banned: https://www.gov.uk/control-dog-public/banned-dogs
In the UK, it’s against the law to own certain types of dog.
These are the:
- Pit Bull Terrier
- Japanese Tosa
- Dogo Argentino
- Fila Brasileiro
XL Bully dogs are banned in England and Wales.
more from the same page:
Whether your dog is a banned type depends on what it looks like, rather than its breed or name.
For example, if your dog matches many of the characteristics of a Pit Bull Terrier, it may be a banned type.

Since I’ve recently watched Fox and His Friends, I’m not ready to rewatch it tonight but on the CWs, I have to mention that it isn’t just nudity, it is casual full frontal male nudity and more than once, but always flaccid.

That wasn’t gonna happen. ;-)

I’ve fallen off the ping list. Might you please re-add me?

I found this on my library’s site, Kanopy, but it may not be accessible from other libraries. If you have an account, here’s the link: https://www.kanopy.com/product/underground-4

Yeah, don’t bother. I’m just saying that when it came out movie goers had seen at least a couple of the sourse flicks and certainly saw ads for the rest. There’s no point in seeing the orginals because they were never very good. Without reference points to what it spoofs, Airplane! has to lose most its humor and instead just feel like a bunch of hype over nothing.

That’s an accurate description. It references a half dozen or so other disaster movies that are now nothing but boring cheese.

Cool! There are so many other interesting things to watch that I wouldn’t want you to repeat it (at least not for years and years).

If you are ever looking for animated content, I would like to re-watch Allgro Non Troppo with an audience. I haven’t seen it in decades, and I’m not sure it is up to your standards – particularly because it has standard acting to connect the animated pieces. I thought it was sadder but more interesting than Fantasia way back when, but hated the human bits. Youtube has it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ_Rpqmn4T8

I’m not ignoring the question, but off the top of my head, I can’t think of anyone that has roles significantly different in different countries. Yes, there are some actors that are known for doing type-cast work, but even if you think of Schwarzenegger as a Conan/Terminator type, he also did Twins (and basically stayed in Hollywood). Maybe Udo Kier is more villianous in the U.S., or maybe Tadanobu Asano got more varied movies in Japan than the few U.S. roles (Shogun is arguably U.S. or Japanese, but he was Hogun in Thor movies so is basically a military-type in the U.S.). Maybe the best is Rutger Hauer who mostly-but-not-entierly played baddies in the U.S. and less so in Germany.

If you’d used a ping list and I saw it, I’d have re-watched that. **Loved ** Tim Curry.

Well since this list is from 1991 there’s been more than 30 years of movies to see since then and anything newer is probably more culturally relevant. I mean: Point Blank was kinda great in its time, but I think it’d just feel dated now. Sometimes a movie can shine above being dated and sometimes being dated makes a movie more interesting, but in the case of Point Blank… well… while I still like watching Lee Marvin, there are so many movies to see and so little time that it doesn’t need to be on a must-watch list.

Part 3 – Final bit:
I posted these here because I coulnd’t get the page to load without enabling a bunch of questionable junk. The above is from an archive made several years ago and shortened for faster reading and for inclusion of my own brief comments on this list.

Part 2:

These are mostly famous movies and a lot of them are in regular rotation on Turner Classic Movies. I’ve bolded the titles I think are most worth a try, but since I haven’t seen all these, I’ve surely missed a bunch. Part 1:

The key is that you are interested. Good job!
But when I read something was during a certain Chinese dynasty, I have no such frame. How to overcome this?
I don’t know anything about Chinese Dynasties, either, but I know that for me, simple timelines work and complicated ones do not – not until I know some basics – so this question sparked me to look for more information and here’s the stuff that immediately looked readable to me:
Timeline from here:

But Dynasties were not covering ALL of China, borders and regions change, so I’d also need something like this timeline page that links to maps for different times, like these:
Eastern Jin Dynasty around 400 AD with the declining Northern Wei Dynasty and states of the era of the Sixteen Kingdoms: Later Qin, Later Yan and Southern Yan.

Compared to 600 years later with the Song Dynasty, the Liao Dynasty (Khitan Empire), and the Tangut Empire of Western Xia:

That’s WAAAYY too much to take in at once, but if you see a movie or play a game that involves some chunk of time or particular person, you can quick-reference where the interesting item fits. Learning any story – even fictional – helps me fill in details. Certain games, like “Plague, Inc.” might help with general geography (though that particular game omits lots of countries).

Would you add me to the ping list?
It wouldn’t be snitches. There are paid professionals tasked with keeping your dogs out of England.
I sincerely hope your babies are not confiscated and euthanized, and I will be worrying about their outcome from now until we hear of your safe return.
