Yeah, it’s just chilling to the bone though to realize that the US exit strategies are pretty much surrender or whatever is necessary to create regime change, accompanied with the fact that US already has never cared about the human life cost of mass casualty events to further its strategic goals

This is what scares me the most. The US is losing badly at galvanizing the Iranian populace against continued conflict and for regime change, which is where the US needed to be winning the most. The only action I could even fathom that would generally change the mood at this point is some kind of mass casualty event, like you’re also suggesting. What scares me the most is that we both know it has at the very least been considered in US military strategy by now. Tons of high ranking military firings and resignations in the past few weeks really chills me to the bone as to why. I can only imagine it’s about an invasion or nukes.

You’d have to imagine that if the US so desires to see such an increase in the scale of the conflict, that Iran will match or exceed their intensity and close the Red Sea + Saudi infrastructure to get fossil fuels there. Iran seems to be more than ready to keep this up and is in it for the long haul. At this point I can’t imagine what level of strikes the US could possibly use that would tilt Iran in the direction of exiting the conflict really.

I mean, even if the US decided to go nuclear, (which still just feels permanently off the table) I don’t see it impacting the trajectory here. If anything, that feels like it would further galvanize the Iranian people. It just is scary though, the thought that the US is aware of this notion and could be willing to take it even further than that, given its apparent willingness to target population centers and general disregard for humanity as a whole. The talk of “Ending civilizations” is so deeply frightening

If you so much as drop a pen in a helicopter and can’t find it, they have to take the entire thing out of commission until they find the pen (which could include disassembly until it’s found)
