Perfect, thank you!
Perfect, thank you!
I really do need to read this one someday… It just seems overwhelming with so many issues. Do I have to read the whole thing? Is it all one cohesive story? Or is there a good stopping point somewhere in the middle where I can decide if I want to keep going?
Yes, I think Edgerunners is more punk than the 2077 game. Good call!
Oh good call. Dedsec from Watch_Dogs 2 is exactly what I’m thinking of. Thanks for the reminder!
Ok, you convinced me. I forgot about Vitaly Chernobyl and the Meltdowns.
True, YT is pretty anti-establishment. I’m not sure if The Deliverator is a punk though. He’s more of just a bad-ass.
Update: played the demo, loved the demo. Really fun retro run-and-gun. I didn’t realize there was a sword that’s always available too. So I can play kinda like Megaman Zero where one button is gun and one button is sword and you can use either one.
The foreground/background stuff isn’t just reserved for gallery shooting either. There’s a level on a motorcycle and you can move your character between foreground and background by changing lanes. It’s a fun idea.
I’m looking forward to the full game. It’s definitely more hectic than Huntdown but that isn’t a complaint for either game, just a design choice.
A 4k remastered steelbook?? Might be time to buy this movie again…
SpamBlocker on fdroid can block any numbers not saved to your address book. It can even make exceptions for any repeated numbers that aren’t in your contacts but call multiple times within some time period (5min, 30min, whatever). And it can temporarily whitelist a number you dialed recently in case you’re expecting a call-back.
It also has the ability to download spam phone number databases from the internet if you want, but to be honest, I tried setting up that feature and couldn’t figure it out. So while it can use a 3rd party, it isn’t required.
I feel like GitS has a better track record and is more likely to be good. But a new Tron movie that throws away the previous storyline and stars Jared Leto? I’m setting my expectations pretty low.
I totally agree on The Expanse. Great story, both books and show. The Belters were a good example of cyberpunk in space, even though that wasn’t the focus of the story.
Personally, I think the video game The Ascent is the best new cyberpunk IP to come out in a long time. It’s such a fully-realized world I assumed it must’ve been based on a TTRPG or something but nope, brand new IP.
Here’s a poster for each of the 4 episodes:
Only the first season?? Well, crap. You’re right, I guess piracy will be the only way to finish the series.
For what it’s worth, I just watched the first episode and I thoroughly enjoyed the world. I’m not sure which direction the plot will go, but I’m interested enough to keep going. It doesn’t exactly have “adult themes” but it isn’t a children’s show either. The TV-14 rating seems about accurate for their target audience. I’m into it.
See, this is the type of comment I always see when people mention Pantheon. You’ve got me intrigued, I’ll definitely be checking it out.
The show already looked kinda weird to me but now that you’ve confirmed it’s isekai I think I can safely skip it. Thanks for the update though, I’m glad to have more details about it!
I’d say it does. Have you seen the new-ish game Bomb Rush Cyberfunk? It looks just like JSRF to me.
Have you tried playing Beyond a Steel Sky? I haven’t played it but I can’t imagine a sequel released so many years after the original would be any good. I could be wrong though, maybe it’s fun.
Good luck!
Oh, Deathburger! He’s the guy that made those cool covers for the Sprawl trilogy. I didn’t realize he had a narrative book, neat!
