I’m glad it was better! Fwiw my wife and I did a bunch of eye rolling during the snack breaks and on the ride home from several of the classes.
Our kiddo is doing really well, we hit 1y4m last week - she has all teeth except her 2 year molars (tons of fun), is transitioning from two to one nap a day (tons of fun), and is doing her darndest to use words for things, which is actually fun.
That’s awful. We were lucky enough to take a course from a doula who worked out of the hospital system we did our birth care through. I still have all of our materials plus an unused code for an informational app, and would be more than happy to send you a little care package if that would help in any way
Changed up my whole approach to a writing project - I’m finally making progress again and being a little less down on myself as a result.
We do wood chip paths and the weedy growth gets chopped up a bit and tossed on the paths. We’ll weed like that all season - walking on the paths break everything down further as we go. If the winter is wet and warm we’ll use the paths as a fertilizing mulch the following year. If winter is cold and relatively dry we’ll use it after another year

That’s actually the handle for holding it while you eat. Far fewer stringy bits get in the way if you pinch the bottom of it and split the peel from that end
Ceanothus americanus produces the same compounds as C. sinensis, just without the caffeine. You can even make green or black teas with it depending on whether you oxidize the leaves or not.

I’d love it if something like this existed around me, but I’d settle for never being asked “oh did mom get a day off” ever again (for context, I’m a stay-at-home dad and primary caregiver). I get why the stereotype exists but it’s less than helpful to shame the dads who are out doing things with their kids.
There are several groups around that are specifically for moms, dads excluded, and I just wish there were more avenues for me to help my daughter socialize in age appropriate groups

Are these perennial flowers we’re talking about? Leave the stems attached until the birds in your area have eaten the seeds so they fare better over the winter. Seed heads will also catch snow and ice to create “winter interest” as it’s called in landscaping circles, giving your garden something pretty to look at even in the depths of winter. Those upright stems will also provide critical habitat for insects - they can provide that habitat if they’re cut and left whole on the ground but will become inaccessible if you get an early snow that lingers.
