What this article doesn’t mention, is that AVIC Chengdu is expected to deliver the J-35AE (the export variant of the J-35) later this year, and Pakistan is looking like it will be the first customer. The Pakistan Air Force has been training on the J-35 since last August, and they basically confirmed that there’s an agreement to acquire these jets. That would definitely alter the balance of power in the region.
