  • In the 90’s, companies were super lax on data security, retention, and destruction. In my city we had major IT players like INTEL, HP, Motorola, etc. We would dumpster dive and find whole computers full of data and no passwords. We were after the hardware so all our friends could play Doom MP, Quake, or later Unreal Tournament… so we usually wiped them but who knows what was in those things. It was a lot of e-waste and because of divers with bad intentions, now there’s incredibly strict corporate rules about data security/destruction.

  • I keep getting ads that blast right out of the gates saying “my husband prematurely ejaculates…” in the middle of the day. Or “problems getting rock hard?” I got my kids next to me. Like WTF? If it’s supposed to profile me, it’s broken. I don’t need or want ED pills and even if I did, why are the ads so crass?

  • Doubling down on your own lack of knowledge is certainly a choice. What are your thoughts on millenniums old Japanese and Chinese wooden architecture? Let me guess “hur dur hurr I am funny”.

It’s not dry tinder, it’s pressure and chemical treated lumber that’s extremely fire resistant but not fire proof and yes, I’ve made a living installing false walls for people that want extra insulation in drafty brick building, or to hang things like white boards or medical equipment.

Just because you don’t know about it doesn’t mean it’s not done around the world. It just means you should recognize when you’re wrong. It’s a valuable skill in life.

Wow, you sure are confidently incorrect. There’s paneling, wainscoting, and shiplap to name a few appliqués. Some people even build false walls to install pipes, cables, or extra insulation. It also helps with hanging things like TV’s or family photos. Not like a fucking tree house XD. Additionally, some old brick buildings you can’t modify due to historic building codes so the only way to “modify” the structure is to build around it.

  • We recently had to buy out a director that kept all the technical knowledge to themselves for the last 20 years. They were almost always available 24x7 for outage calls and it became clear his teams didn’t know shit about anything, especially when said director was sick or on vacation. He was labeled a danger to the infrastructure and settled for a multimillion dollar buyout with a full knowledge transfer. Retirement age, fat 401k, company stock and other investments… yeah, he took that deal immediately, like no hesitation.

  • Ok, but one could also argue that Nintendo was never going to release what this content creator made, it attracted more business to the official IP, the artist was expressing themselves through painstaking love for the content, and only asked for tips to support further creative adventures.

Dropped my Switch for a Steam Deck and never looked back.

Fuck Nintendo and Games Workshop. Just say it’s not cannon and fucking move on you controlling pricks.

  • I wonder why they aren’t doing this in stand your ground states like TX, AZ, or FL where it’s easy (or not even necessary) to get your concealed carry licenses, and if your attacked by a masked unmarked thug with a weapon you’re allowed to use lethal force to defend yourself? Anyone can wear a patch that says whatever they want. From that distance, how are you supposed to identify who they are or why they’re shooting at you? They are going to get waxed.

  • Non-standard as in there’s no standard in cables. Some support fast charging some don’t. Some support hdmi, some don’t support data at all. They won’t catch fire to anything. If the bricks are under powered because they were meant for a kids toy it won’t catch fire, it just won’t charge as fast.

If a manufacturer suddenly decides to support 500W charging, none of us will have the gear to support that and companies like Anker or UGREEN will be more than willing to price gouge the cables and bricks we would need. It’s already happening at 65W.
