In the US, it’s commonplace for people to “get a tan” and people in general are not as protective over sun with the use of sunscreen or long sleeves/pants.

In many Asian countries, whiter skin is more desirable. People are a lot more diligent in wearing long sleeves and pants when spending time in the sun and etc.

The sun will age you a LOT.

Well. So I took a lot of dance classes growing up. It was a very important part of my life. I wanted a tattoo for that, but I didn’t want something obvious like a ballerina. Thought of a black swan. This doesn’t really read like a black swan as much as I’d like (I think the legs are proportionally too large or something) and it’s not exactly dark enough, but I thought the stencil looked sick so I went with it anyway. I think she did a great job! The only thing I might want to change about it in the future would maybe be getting it darkened. But yeah I know there is a balance between darkness and readability of details.

I’m planning on getting a tree on my thigh soon (unrelated) and have been trying to figure out who and where to choose booking it. So far my tattoos are all from different people, but I really liked the vibe of the shop and artist for this particular one. I think I might ask her to do my tree also.

So far this has been working for me! Didn’t figure this out until my 30s lol.

But what’s the approach for when you go to bed and wake up and it’s a mess? Because brushing it at that point just turns into the OP also.

I work a physical/tactile job in healthcare. My job won’t be in danger until robotics dramatically advance and cheapen. AI could conceptually do my job, but the physicality is missing. A lot of healthcare careers are this way. Not all of them are though, so be wise in your choice!

Yeah I wasn’t initially planning an arm sleeve. I plan to eventually go into a single patchwork leg sleeve, though! Same side as shoulder.

To be real, I think at least in the US, tattoos in more odd, visible locations are becoming more accepted. They don’t seem to be the total job stoppers they once were. They still most definitely are for many jobs, but not as many as they once were. One of my coworkers has some flowers up the side of her neck and I think it’s very pretty. Not my bag at all, but some of these can be very cool.
