  • They would have to seize new land, build new tunnels and bridges and essentially start from scratch to build functional rail, and if you want it to pass through major cities that gets extremely expensive. Flock relies on existing mass produced tech (they’re essentially a bulky cell phone with fewer features, a small solar panel and a pole. They already had the land, just needed govt permission to use the existing easements. And Flock is making money vs spending trillions with no ROI.

  • Hey communists, when your ideas are forced it always produces authoritarianism and mass death. (I’m just following the meme’s instructions).

Voluntary communes generally fail too, but at least they don’t result in millions of deaths. If you want communism, you are free to find a group of like minded people, pool resources to buy land and give it a try. Please keep me out of it.

  • Yes Europe’s laws on this are very different. Europens in the US often get upset when someone is filming on the street and haven’t asked anyone for consent. Sometimes they throw a fit about it - threaten violence, or call the police. But it’s perfectly legal and they can publish it even if you specifically say you don’t give consent. A lot of that content ends up getting tons of views, so people going up to the camera to say I don’t want to be on camera is kind of a running joke in the first amendment community. If they had just ignored the camera no one would have ever seen video of them.

Many people can’t floss. Me personally, I got experimental orthodontics in the '80s and they filed between my teeth and flossing has been excruciating ever since. I still have all of my teeth though, minus two wisdom teeth that were removed to create space (it wasn’t enough space)
