Does anyone know of any US grid compatible balcony solar devices? When Utah first legalized it, the headlines basically said that devices didn’t exist yet (since they werent previously legal). I see that there is a UL certification for devices (UL3700), but i dont see any devices available yet. I guess it’s can’t expect them to be commercially available like 5 months after the certification.

Honesty, that’s cheaper than renting a bike for a week. I’m typically really against purchases of convenience, but I also think putting a decent bike into circulation somewhere isnt a bad move.

A tune up itself basically costs $100, though, so that’s most of their budget.

The fact that electors physically exist as real people is still insane to me. You could go for somewhat equivalent congressional roles like House/Senate minority leaders, or you could try to point to specific political figures that seem to be trying harder to oppose the regime who may or may not be in the federal government like governors, or people like the chair of the DNC.

HOAs have a lot of applications that aren’t horrible, you just probably dont hear about them. Neighborhoods with HOAs are often centrally planned, so there will be common areas that require upkeep like pools, clubhouses, parks, etc. They essentially take on a form of government role. In a lot of neighborhoods that are not part of an incorporated city, they do things like trash collection, road upkeep, snow plowing, etc.

I’ve lived in 2 places with an HOA, and in the one, all they did was the landscaping, even around all the yards of the houses. In the other, they handled the park/pool/clubhouse, and they did trash collection.

The down sides are often because the people in charge are just retirees who hunger for power, and there isnt much oversight from real government. Most people dont care enough to try to oust the bad leaders, so they stay in control, and they often do things that are illegal, but no one calls them out on it.

It’s more about saving width close to the ground. It doesnt matter on all trails, obviously, but a single-track through a shrubby/grassy area or a trail that’s deeply rutted will be a big pain if you have wide panniers.

I’m not exactly sure what you gain with a seat post bag vs just a bag on the top of a rear rack, though. I guess it is lighter.

Well, my bike is currently on the healing bench, and I dont have a pic, but it essentially is like what you are already doing. Just instead of a table top like you have, it’s a shelf, and there’s more shelves above that one.

I had some hair that somehow made its way into the hub ratcheting mechanism, and in cleaning that out, I lost a single ball bearing. I had to buy like a 1000 pack of ball bearings just to replace the one. Other than that, the chain, and bar tape, everything is original.

I did recently decide that I might as well do a complete tear down over winter while I wasn’t riding it, so it’s currently in pieces that I probably need to reassemble now that it’s spring.

I have downtube shifters on a similar bike, and I like them, but I also have a modern friction shifter on the handlebars of a different bike, and it is incredible. The bike is 1x10, and if can go from top gear to granny gear in a single rotation of the pedals. Since it uses a skinnier chain, there’s less adjustment i have to do to keep it noiseless on a gear.

People who have only used indexed shifters are really missing out.

Growing up, we had a front door that we never used, so we left it locked, and the side door was always unlocked unless we were going on vacation or something.

My friends parents locked their door when they werent home, but they always left the windows next to the door unlocked, so they or I or anyone could just climb in if we needed to.

I dont know if people locked doors at night, but we didn’t. Definitely no one ever locked the door during the day when they were home. The first time I experienced someone doing that, I was so confused. If a thief is willing to go into an occupied house, they’ll be willing to break a window.

I would never leave keys in a car, partly because of where I live now, but also because cars are deadly weapons, and you shouldn’t leave those around where kids could get hurt.
