This one looks awesome. All three sets they showed today seemed really cool.

I purposefully keep my spaces open because I like the feeling. I like not having every inch of my house not need something in it.
I like to think of it like goldfish. A goldfish will grow to be the size of the tank you put it in, and that’s good for a goldfish, but I don’t want to be a goldfish - I don’t need to jam stuff into every corner of the house just because a corner happens to be kind of empty.

I recently installed Mint on my laptop and I have this problem, too. Windows 11 sucks, but I could just close the laptop and not worry about it and still have battery for a long time.
Now I assume it’ll last with the lid closed maybe a day or two at max, and even then I’m plugging it in the moment I open it back up.

So I ran into my first genAI coding junk yesterday when I was on a call with my boss and as a solution to a problem we were talking he said, “hold on let me ask Gemini.”
I felt my soul die a little bit at that point.
But the fun part is that Gemini first didn’t provide a good answer.
And then on the second go it also didn’t provide a good answer.
And then on the third attempt we decided to table the issue for the moment because prompt coding on a call was taking longer than I think he expected.
I really disliked that experience.
I have a Lily58 that I love. I put mine together myself (save for soldering. The place I found mine offered a service to do that before shipping) so it’s a bit different looking than this one shown in their preview, but it’s the same layout.

“Trending” gets you somewhat the way there to a “what’s hot.” Though I wish it’d update more often.
But, in reality, that just means I get off of my phone sooner because I’ve seen the same stuff so that’s fine.

Look, Gabe needs another yacht, OK?

21 years is a pretty good stretch to hold onto that grudge. Good work.

We just need to build a data center in these areas so genAI can think of a solution to this problem!

“We could hold a certain percentage of our supply off to the side for consumers so they can afford our products and have a backup for when the AI bubble bursts, but nah let’s just fuck everyone because line is going up right now and MBA brain means that’s all that matters.”

I’ve been working on a dark/light mode for an app at work so I’ve been toggling the system theme from light to dark a lot this week.
Anyway, half the time the taskbar gets stuck in the old mode so it’ll stay dark when set to Light. But the text will change so it’s black text on black taskbar. Super cool stuff MS.
I’m over here bringing in like 4 reusable bags (one is a pink tote I got from a work thing years ago) so I can not only pack three times the groceries in one bag but also not take a plastic bag I have to then recycle somehow.

They always said this would or could be China’s century.
I just don’t think we knew it’d be because the United States shot their own dick off willingly.
I JUST started playing Magic this year, and already I’m like, “can you guys calm down?”
I still feel like I’m barely getting into Edge of Eternities.
It’s already too much shit to think about.

Finally, we can see who would win between a EoE space ship and a City Pigeon.

Thanks!
Yeah, last weekend I was up until like 3am playing Magic, so I might have a problem, ha.

Final Fantasy was the set that got me into Magic because I’m a big FF fan and I have a friend who has been playing for 30 years that convinced me I needed these cards, ha.
But I like that each of the pre-constructed decks I have (4 FF ones, and now 2 Edge of Eternities) all have two commanders to choose from in the decks. It’s really nice to play with a different one to get a bit of a different flavor to the deck. And with 100 cards, it takes a few matches to really see all the cards come out. It’s great.
I’ve mostly played just 2 player games, but have also played a few 3 player games. It’s been enjoyable each time.

Commander is a game variant where you have one card act as your “commander” for that round, and decks of 100 cards are generally built a little around what the commander can do.
The commander sits off on its own, not in your library, and it can be cast during a main phase when you have the mana for it. The more unique thing is that if your commander gets destroyed, it goes back to its little commander spot instead of the graveyard, and you can cast it again for its cost (+2 extra mana for each time it has died).
Also, if your commander does 21 points of damage to your opponent, the game ends right then (each player starts with 40 health).
It’s a pretty fun variant, honestly. I’m still really new to Magic, but I’ve enjoyed Commander the best so far.
I forgot about this.
This makes me mad because I have a friend who has worked on Star Wars Zero Company, and that game looks cool. But then the dilemma of giving this company money to support my friend where some of that ends up in EA’s pocket…
Maybe I should give him $20 for the effort.
