Trump doesn’t have to approve jack shit. The vote to release the Kraken was 427-1 in the House and the Senate is promising a unanimous vote. You cannot get more veto proof than that.
If Trump had the means to edit this shit, how the hell did he fail with last week’s release? Nah, for Trump the night is dark and full of terrors.

I have a Sensi thermostat. Highly recommended.

And I just noted that in my little, American, redneck town that you usually don’t have to stick the quarter in the Aldi cart as someone will come along and hand you their cart.

We have an Aldi in my little redneck American town. Not sure I’ve ever paid the $.25. Most people look for an incoming customer to hand off to.

More plastic?! Did you eat food today that wasn’t from your own garden? Then you wasted 10,000x more plastic than is in one of these chips.

Must have been an issue with earlier efforts. Having the idea isn’t the same as execution.

Without even doing the math I’m screaming, “How long do they think solar panels take to cool down?!” Hell, they start cooling long before actual sundown.
SOURCE: I’m outside at sundown nearly every day.

Does anyone not expect them to question sustainability going forward? Anyone in any sane position in healthcare investment is going to ask:
“This is a thing. How has it worked out so far? How will it work in the future?”
“While this proposition carries tremendous value for patients and society, it could represent a challenge for genome medicine developers looking for sustained cash flow.”
The question is: “What is our future when our scientific output kills our business?”
This is a perfectly rational question to pursue. This is a place private medicine hasn’t visited. Yet another reason healthcare and research should be a government function. Government exists to spend money on societal benefits without expectation of near-term monetary profit.
God knows where they go with the answers, but putting off cures is conspiracy bullshit. You think the major pharma companies will drop monstrous short term profits? Tell me, with a straight face, that you believe these evil capitalists are planning long term. And then your next comment, “Line must go up!” And the next, “These corporations can’t think past the next quarter’s profits.”
The enemy is both strong and weak. 🙄
Some y’all have the business sense of angry teenagers. No, this shouldn’t be a discussion about business, but it is.
tl;dr: “This is going to hurt your bottom line. You need to start thinking about it.”

Yes and no. I wouldn’t call it envy, but I can see where I could do better for my family, and not just financially.
$850 a week sounds a little nuts to me, let alone 4 days, and not in consumer spending.
10s of trillions of dollars of activity a day
Our entire GDP isn’t $30T yet. I’m really questioning these numbers.
Melt it all down, let it seperate by mass, pour into molds. Energy consumed may not be worth it though.
Sounds logical, but emotionally I’m repelled. Anyone know economics can speak to this?

I thought NASA was well stocked with 486 CPUs? Quite a cut about the 386! (I know the ISS is not all NASA.) In any case, the wide wires make for less bit flipping. :)
No way I live long enough for us to get to a Grand Unified Field theory. :(

You sound like a conservative arguing that being a white American carries no privilege.

You’re not understanding the position this person is in. Many Indian techs have no fucking choice.
My wife’s Filipino and is scared shitless to call in sick. She’s knocking it out the park at her job, works at home most days so I know how she’s doing. “But will they fire me if I call in?”
Her employer finally fired her friend after missing 2-weeks, and then a month, among other scattered call-ins. (For context, the friend is bugfuck nuts, not the sort of person you want as a friend or coworker.)
At this point you should admit you are privileged.

If you’re forced into a fight, you might as well hit back.
And congrats! You have the privilege of making that choice.

We won’t have jobs or food, let alone PC parts.
So damned frustrating that this should be a non-partisan win for politicians.
