I think Apple should make a MessageKit framework (or something like that) to enable apps the ability to essentially replace the messages app.
So 3rd party sms apps like android? I can see why some people might like that but also why apple wouldn’t. Walled garden and all that stuff, they’d never make this an API

It’s a problem for every other oem, and (more importantly) for current android users. If people stop using it Google are simply gonna stop making android.
Which also indirectly affects ios users, less competition (and Innovation) isn’t good for anyone.

That’s not relevant. This is looking at 3rd party app stores on iOS.

iirc that is an API they’re making? But it might only be to provide data to this journal app.
Because my last phone broke so I’m using my old one until I get a replacement
