Sorry, couldn’t resist. She just reminds me of literally every church lady I had to endure growing up. The similarities in demeanor and attitude are uncanny, and Fletcher played the part to perfection.
So I definitely get where you’re coming from, but I am able to appreciate her portrayal because it’s so much of a “take that”.
And that’s exactly why I love (to hate) her so much. lol. She reminds me of some really awful people that were considered by the community to be “good people” only because they were really religious.
The fact that Winn is a reflection of those “good” people, while lots of viewers hate her with a passion, is what moves her into the “love to hate” category for me.
That is all to say if you didn’t hate her, I wouldn’t like her nearly as much.
