Sigourney Weaver Confirms She Will Make Her Star Wars Debut In The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie

This sci-fi legend is coming to Star Wars.

After previous rumors and speculation, Sigourney Weaver has officially confirmed that she will be appearing in The Mandalorian & Grogu, marking her long-awaited debut in the Star Wars franchise. Details about The Mandalorian & Grogu are still quite sparse, even if new movie footage shown at D23: The Ultimate Disney Event provided audiences with a few new crumbs to go off of. This includes its cast list, which, aside from star Pedro Pascal and Steve Blum (Zeb Orrelios), is practically nonexistent. Now, however, a sci-fi legend has become the next name to join this duo.

Weaver has revealed to Deadline that she’s currently working on The Mandalorian & Grogu. Weaver even “got to meet Grogu for the first time the other day,” which is no doubt a highlight for any actor who’s new to The Mandalorian franchise. The actor doesn’t provide any specific details about her role, but at this stage, she doesn’t need to. Even just knowing someone of her caliber is a part of this upcoming Star Wars movie is an absolute thrill.

    Or she has 2 mins of on screen time and they use all of it on the trailer, just to make it seem like she plays a big role.

      Are you talking about Carrie-Anne Moss? Because she was still extensively featured in a few more episodes and played a relatively important role.

      I’d even imagine that if the Acolyte would’ve gotten another season she’d maybe returned for more.

        No, I was just making a general statement, of how Hollywood sometimes uses big names and they have basically very little role in the movie and they’re shown in the trailer a ton, just to get people there.

          I’d assume so.

          They purposefully kept a few stories open, like the Qimir one. Perhaps she could’ve played another role in that. Or more of the twins flashbacks.

            Hmm, maybe she could help with Osha’s training in a flashback but I don’t think that she had any relationship with Qimir; if she did, Sol probably did too and they didn’t know each other.
