Download Obtanuim and Aurora Store. Obtamuim let’s you download straight from Github repos and will autoupdate those apps
Aurora is just a custom frontend for Play store but you don’t need an account. Its anonymous.

I don’t think so, IIRC Sync uses Google’s push notifications only.
Aurora Store with microG exists though.
It’s not on fdroid because sync is proprietary garbage, complete with ads, tracking, and subscription business model. Gross.
