Woke up on Monday and my Pixel 6 Pro wasnt quite fitting in the case while i was checking news while having coffee on the morning. Pushed it in and it didnt seem to fit right. Took the case off to find it had turned itself into a spicy pillow and was splitting along the side. Was 1 month inside warranty, messaged support who told me it was wear and tear initially. I made it quite clear i wasnt accepting that and there wasnt even any way that internal adhesive failing would be wear and tear, never mind battery expansion. They agreed to replace it with a refurb as a goodwill gesture, how very nice of them. I upgraded the same day to a S23 Ultra and have sold the refurb to a reseller.

Must be. This shit doesn’t fly in the EU with the 2 years of obligated warranty.

You also pay way more, plus your insane tax rate. As of this morning on the Goog store the Pixel 7Pro is $649.00 in the US, it’s £849.00 on the UK site which is equivalent to $1049.00 USD. Thats a deal???

I’m all for good warranties, but seriously, why dont yous guys realize the way business works? The companies never lose anything, the consumer pays for all those “free” benefits you think you’re getting. You’re 100% paying for them! Just like that “free” healthcare. Wake up man.

The UK isn’t even in the EU.

Pixel 7 Pro was discounted to like €600 for a long time on Dutch carriers.

The US also has taxes but those are not shown on the US site.

I don’t know what else to tell other than go live in an actual EU country for a while, especially with the weird tangent about healthcare.

Theres no “weird tangent” just the fallacy you guy have about the “free” stuff and benefits you have. And yes, I lived in the UK for a while, ya, when it was the EU, let’s not pretend much has changed in a few years. Still got no shortage of friends still there. I’m aware of how little difference the break made. Indisputable point is you pay for all the things you think you dont.
