minus-square@BigDaddySlim@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglish28•9 months agoIt just reinstalled Edge, put a shortcut for it on your desktop and start menu, made it your default browser and migrated all your cookies and login info to Edge (for ad and tracking purposes) before uninstalling said browsers. No big deal, bro

minus-square@Honytawk@lemmy.ziplinkfedilink3•edit-29 months agoIt only reinstalls when there is a new version. You can disable the update by adding these to the host file: 127.0.0.1 https://msedge.api.cdp.microsoft.com 127.0.0.1 *.dl.delivery.mp.microsoft.com

It only reinstalls when there is a new version.
