    There is some serious nuance here. There are federal regulations on vehicles. You can break federal laws if you do things like for example people bypassing their diesel DEF systems is against the law.

    You have a right to repair your car how you see fit, but you don’t have a right to drive that thing on the road if it doesn’t fit within our regulatory framework.
