In hopes of easing the morning and afternoon commute, Caltrans announced plans for the activation of seven new ramp meters along Highway 58 and southbound Highway 99 in Kern County.
TLDR: the newly metered ramps are as follows:
“H Street on-ramp to westbound Highway 58; on the Chester Avenue on-ramp to eastbound Highway 58; and on all on-ramps from Highway 204, or Union Avenue, to Highway 58.”
I’ve also seen them active on the westbound 24th street (Rosedale Hwy.) onramp to southbound 99. I’ve seen another on eastbound Ming to southbound 99 but haven’t used that ramp recently so I don’t know if it’s active yet.
Edit: oh yeah, I’ve seen them active on Olive Dr eastbound to 99 SB.
