Hey everyone,

My bad for forgetting to post a thread last week. Since then I’ve been continuing to work on Ragnarok and I’ve started Super Mario Wonder with my wife, and a bit with my daughter. I haven’t played too much of Wonder but it really is fantastic so far.

BG3 and Spider-man 2 are next in line and currently on the back burner. I really don’t want to have to juggle 4 games at once but I might have to play some Spider-man 2 soon.

Also in the last week I beat Cocoon. All I can say is…play it. It’s beautiful, the puzzles are great and ramp in difficulty nicely. I know Playdead didn’t make this one, but the comparisons to Limbo and Inside I think are still valid. If you liked those games I would definitely give it a try. I think it’s better than Limbo, and on par with Inside. Idk if I can say it’s better than Inside, but it’s definitely not worse. It’s right there with it I think. I can see how some might like Inside more though. I don’t want to say too much but as far as character, level, and art design, multiple times while playing I remember asking myself, “How did this come out of someone’s mind?” It’s so very alien in all the right ways. Give it a go. I beat it in about 3-4 hours and I’m still thinking about the ending and the whole experience and what it all means.

Anyway, what’re you all up to this week?

    I don’t even play PS4 games anymore after getting a PS5.

It’s not really limiting. I don’t have much time for video games (adulting) so I can be selective in what games I play (only the best in graphics, gameplay, etc.) and still fill all my available gaming time.

No one has infinite time, and everyone picks and chooses their games. You are not unique.

It’s just dumb to have this mindset that if digital foundry says something, then I can’t play it! Art does not matter, just pixels and technology.

It’s not just what they are saying, they back it up with screen recordings. You can see how soft the image is and the how much shimmering there is due to the FSR2 upscaling.

I’ll just park this one until PS5 Pro releases and then see if it can run with a decent graphical quality.

No one normal cares about anything like that. Only people who go to digital foundry and the like to be told what is acceptable or not do. There are no problems with this game. It’s all in your head. It’s fairly disheartening to see people choose technical quantifications over art.

The shimmering is extremely distracting. The human visual system is very sensitive to motion. This isn’t just a problem for people who care about visual quality. The game is basically unplayable as it is.

Lol, no, it isn’t. Your brain is rotted if you think that. You may just be too far gone to enjoy things. A shame for you! More enjoyment for normal people

It legitimately made me laugh when I read you say, “The game is unplayble”

Stop making excuses for developers half-assing their games and using upscaling as a crutch.
