Well your average user doesn’t want Linux. The average person doesn’t really want anything other than their apps to work when they click the icon. Someone always is going to have to handhold that person.
Linux just works if you want Linux. If you want to install and administrate your own Linux system, it’s a piece of cake these days and it can run on completely inexpensive hardware. The good news is (and what that message means) is that you don’t have to be a developer to use Linux anymore.
You do have to be an average computer administrator, and that’s a bar just about anybody can clear with some effort, but we all know the median office/home user scoffs at effort. Coincidentally, That’s why their self-administered Windows PCs are constantly filled with garbage and are borderline unusable.
