It’s been suggested that someone could possibly make an actual copy of a key from a picture. I couldn’t tell you if there’s any truth to it though

I can see it is a kwikset key and the heights of the cuts, but anyone who can make a key from looking at the key probably knows how to pick the lock faster than making a key.

So… Someone skilled enough to figure out where you live AND to make a usable key from a photo could break into your home if they come across this image online. Got it

    • @MrJameGumb @Mothra Oh, there’s absolutely truth to it and it could easily be done, but you’re right that picking locks isn’t that difficult either. Long story short, locks on doors have always been a deterrent from people breaking in, not a hard block. That’s how it always will be, and I think that’s okay

If you’re a celebrity or “content creator” though I would highly recommend against ever showing your keys online

Point taken! I’ll have to look up some videos on it lol

Thankfully I’m neither “famous”, nor do I really have anything worth stealing. I’m pretty sure if someone wanted to rob me they’d just wait until I leave and bash the door in, but they’d be very disappointed lol
